About Organic Quilt Company
Organic Quilt Company is a cottage industry located in Hudson, Quebec near Montreal.
Created by Becky Stone, Organic Quilt Company was born following a quest to find sustainable quilting cottons to feed her decade-long passion for quilting. As a long-time quilter, Becky was concerned with the quantity of chemicals devoured by the quilting industry. As a mother of three, she was worried about wrapping her babies up in chemically-laced blankets when she tucked them into bed at night.
Inspired by the exquisite organic cotton fabrics that she found, Becky has created a line of ecologically responsible, luxuriously soft quilts and receiving blankets. It is her hope to provide a fresh alternative to people concerned with providing their families with beautiful, sustainable, high-quality quilts and baby blankets.
About Organic
Conventional cotton is dependent on chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Conventional dying practices regularly employ formaldehyde and other chemicals that are harmful to our planet and to our bodies.
Organic Quilt Company’s quilts and receiving blankets are made with exquisite organic cotton fabrics. All of our quilts and blankets feature a colorful range of organic fabrics dyed using low-impact fiber-reactive or naturally-sourced dyes. They are backed with unbleached, certified organic cotton flannel that has been grown and milled in the USA. Harmful chemical agents are not used in the production or finishing of these wonderfully soft fabrics making them the perfect choice for your baby’s delicate skin. Please contact us if you require more information about our organic fabrics.
When you choose to buy organic cotton products, you are not only choosing a healthier product for your family and our planet, but you are also supporting the farmers and manufacturers dedicated to growing cotton, and producing cotton fabrics, which avoid the use of toxic chemicals that pollute our environment and can linger on our textiles.
